Coaching
Philosophy
The philosophy of the Jerome Celtic softball coaching staff
revolves around teaching the skills needed to allow each
student athlete reach her maximum potential. The coaching
staff is well aware that each athlete has different abilities;
it is our responsibility to give the proper instruction to
allow each athlete to succeed. It is the athlete’s
responsibility to give the effort that is needed to improve
her game and reach the next level. The coaching staff will
emphasize teamwork, integrity, mental toughness, and enthusiasm
(TIME). It is our responsibility to teach this approach to
each player. Likewise, it is the responsibility of the athlete
to demonstrate these qualities both on and off the field
as a member of the Jerome Celtic softball team.
All members of the team, including
the coaching staff, will be expected to demonstrate sportsmanship
and respect toward everyone involved in our program – coaches,
staff, players, opponents, umpires, parents, etc. It is
also important to have team pride and remember that being
a part of our team is a privilege and a responsibility,
not a right. Your actions on and off the field are not
just a reflection on yourself, but on our team, your school
and your family.
We will strive to make practices
and games enjoyable learning experience that will develop
skills needed in the game of softball and in life.
